In 2005, cases of children’s library books were donkey-delivered, after a 16-hour surreal bus ride over a 17,060-foot pass from Arequipa to the town of Locarihuanca, above the Cotahuasi Valley in Perú. Puppets, donated by CreativeUpuppets, made the journey as well and were quickly adopted into the community.
